Switching company

If you have access to more than one company on Selfcare, you sign in to all of them with the same login and switch company in the selector, without signing out.

Some people have access to more than one company on Selfcare: the owner of two companies, someone who works for one and is a partner in another, or an accounting firm with several clients. There is only one account, with the same email, the same password and the same two-step verification, and each company stays separate from the others.

Where the selector is

When you have access to more than one company:

  • The company name (or logo) at the top of the sidebar becomes the selector. It has two small arrows on the right.
  • My companies appears at the top of the screen, with the list of all of them.

On a phone, the selector is in the menu (☰), in the same place at the top.

If you only have one company, you will not see any of this.

  1. Click the company name at the top of the sidebar (or press E).
  2. Type part of the name or the NIF (Portuguese tax number) to filter, or pick a recent one.
  3. Click the company (or use the arrow keys and Enter). Selfcare opens the same section in the other company.

What changes when you switch

  • The address gets the company name in front (for example, selfcare.work/company-name/me). You can keep two tabs open in different companies, and a shared link always opens the right company.
  • Your role is the one you have in that company: you can be the owner in one and an employee in another. The menus only show what you can do there.
  • One company's data never shows up in another. Notifications belong to each company too.

Next time you sign in, Selfcare opens the last company you used.

When you get access to a new company

You receive an email with the company name, your role and a button to open it. You sign in with the same email and password: there is no new account and no invitation to accept. You also get a notification inside the new company.

When a company does not show up

  • Your access was removed: in that case your open sessions end and you have to sign in again.
  • You opened a link to a company you have no access to: Selfcare shows the list of your companies with a notice.
