What the company has to say, for the people who need to know

Announcements, results, congratulations and events in one place, for the whole company, for areas or for teams. Each person sees what's for them and confirms they read it when needed. You know who has seen it without asking anyone.

The all-staff email gets lost. The WhatsApp group isn't for this

The notice goes to a list that's no longer right, whoever joined yesterday doesn't get it, and nobody knows who read it. The save the date for the annual meet-up gets lost among invoices, and the replies arrive through five different channels.

How it works

  1. 1

    HR writes

An announcement, news, recognition or an event, with a cover and attachments.

  2. 2

    Choose the audience

The whole company, one or more areas, or one or more teams.

  3. 3

    Publish or schedule

It goes out in the app and by email, now or at the date and time you choose.

  4. 4

    See who read it

Who saw it, who confirmed and who's coming, with reminders for those missing.

Audience

For the whole company, for areas or for teams

You choose who it's for and Selfcare handles the rest. The audience is today's: whoever joins a team starts seeing its posts, and whoever leaves stops seeing them.

  • The whole company, one or more org chart areas, or one or more teams
  • An area includes the ones below it: Operations also reaches the Warehouse
  • Only active employees (including those on leave) with portal access
  • Pin to the top what has to stay in view
  • Schedule for Monday at 09:00, or save as a draft to review
  • Cover, attachments and text with headings, lists and links

Posts

Four types, one feed

Each person sees the feed with what's for them: pinned posts first, then the most recent, with what they haven't read marked. The menu shows how many are left.

Announcements

New internal rules, a change of hours, the office closed on Friday. For the whole company or only those it concerns.

News and results

The quarter's close, a new client, a shop opening. What used to sit in an email nobody could find.

Recognition and congratulations

The team that closed the project, someone's 10 years with the company. It stays in everyone's feed, with the cover photo.

Events

Friday's 15:00 town hall with the Meet link, or the three days of the annual meet-up. With date, place, agenda and replies.

Read confirmation

You know who read it, who confirmed and who's missing

For new internal rules or a safety rule, turn on Read confirmation required. Each person clicks I have read it and the time is recorded. In the statistics you see everything and remind only those missing.

  • Recipients, who saw it in the portal and who acknowledged it, with percentages
  • Lists of who saw it and who didn't, who confirmed and who didn't
  • Send a reminder only to those missing, at most one every 12 hours
  • With read confirmation, the post always goes by email too
  • Editing a post doesn't send it again, unless you ask

Events

Save the date, agenda and who's coming

From Friday's 15:00 town hall with the Meet link to the three-day annual meet-up. You set the date early, add the agenda once it's final, and know how many are coming before you book dinner.

  • Date and time, all day or several days in a row
  • Place, address and online link
  • Event agenda, with the same formatting as the text
  • Going, Not going and Maybe replies, with an optional note, which can change until the event
  • Reply counts and list, CSV export and a reminder to those who haven't replied
  • Read confirmation on events too

Calendar

The year's events in view, and in each person's calendar

The Calendar menu shows the 12 months with the company's events for whoever can see them. HR creates events right there, with a click on the day, and chooses whether to notify the audience or keep the event on the calendar only. And each person can subscribe to a private calendar in Google Calendar, Outlook or Apple Calendar, which updates itself.

  • Calendar menu for the whole team, with each month's events
  • New event straight on the calendar: click the day and the date is already filled in
  • Notify on: it goes out in the news, with an alert and email. Off: it stays on the calendar only
  • Events also show on the Absences calendar
  • Add to calendar on every event, in the email too
  • Private ICS subscription per person, with only the events meant for them
  • A new address revokes the previous one. Revoking cuts it off straight away
  • Changing the date or place updates the event in the calendars

Every post, only for the people it's for

The server decides who sees each post, attachment and event, not the screen. Attachments stay in private storage, the text is cleaned before saving and before showing, and the subscribed calendar carries nobody's name or email. Only the owner and HR publish and see the statistics.

Frequently asked questions

Who can publish?+

The owner and HR. They create, edit, schedule, pin, archive and see the statistics.

Can I send to just one person?+

No. Announcements are for groups: the company, areas or teams. For one person, use Documents, with a read request.

Do people get an email?+

Yes, by default, as well as the alert in the app and on the phone. You can turn the email off in Settings → Notifications. With read confirmation, the email always goes.

Can I see who opened the email?+

You see who opened the post in the portal and who acknowledged it. Email opens aren't counted.

Do people who join after publishing see older posts?+

Yes, those meant for their audience. Whoever leaves the team or the company stops seeing them.

Can I put an event on the calendar without telling anyone?+

Yes. When creating the event, turn off Notify. It stays on the Calendar menu and the subscribed calendars, without showing in the news and with no alert, push or email. With Notify on, which is the usual case, it also goes out in the news.

Does it work with Google Calendar and Outlook?+

Yes. Each person generates their address in Settings → Calendar and subscribes once. Every event also has the Add to calendar button.
